FTP Download fail

Recommended Posts

Sorry for the small image. You wouldn't be able to understand it anyways, unless you speak Danish :)

The red letters are translated to:

Could not read /da/payment.html for writing (I think)

File transfer failed

My host thinks it's cause I've changed the rights for the files, but I haven't done that. The last time I downloaded the files, I edited them in Dreamweaver and uploaded them again. Nothing else.

It is only some files I cannot download. For example I can download and edit global.css and other files without problems..

Nondo,

This is a FileZilla issue, not PrestaShop. However, a very common FileZilla issue you might have run into is that your target path is too long. Just to test it, try saving the files to a folder on your Desktop instead.

And if that doesn't work, you'll have to go through your host and/or FileZilla.

This is definitely a FileZilla issue. I just tried the same thing using Cyberduck instead, and there was no problems at all. I prefer FileZilla, so I'll continue to search for a solution.

I'm not sure how to download to another folder/desktop. Right now it downloads to /My computer so the path is as short as it can be.. I'll post a solution if I find it before someone else who might read this.

Thanks for all the replies so far! Appreciate it :)

  • 2 months later...

I wanna re-open this topic as I'm facing difficulties using Cyberduck (I stopped using FileZilla as I never found a solution).

I'm trying to download my entire shop for backup, but it stops at 99,9% (or 163,5mb of 163,6mb). It lists some files like:

553 Prohibited file name: /modules/blockmyaccount\js\validation-form.js.

But this particular file, for instance, doesn't even exist in modules/blockmyaccount.. Any ideas why it won't download the files from modules/blockmyaccount and other with the word blockmyaccount? They all say: 553 Prohibited file name:

Thanks again :)

Very odd, not sure why that would happen, but I don't know that FTP.

You can create a backup of all the files instead of trying to FTP all the files, you may have a way to do it from the cpanel on your host, or, you can check out this backup module http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/55766-module-automatic-prestashop-backup-create-full-or-partial-backups-of-your-shop-on-the-server-or-sent-to-your-email/
