CraigMeade
I have just installed a second copy of prestashop on my host server to build a second shop with a different domain. In the process I have lost my first shop. All of the links to the first shop including the admin panel bring back "Link to database cannot be established." I suspect it's because I have my .htaccess file in the root, and the second shop has erased that of the first shop. Does that sound correct? Or is it a database issue as the error page suggests? I could be very wrong about the .htaccess file seeing the one I have is blank. I'm still learning and don't know a lot so I'll need some help from the people here. I'm not even sure how to move the .htaccess file out of the root to the shop folder or if that is possible. Help anybody? [update: I see I also have .htaccess files in both my Prestashop folder and Prestashop2 folder, and they have data, so those must be the working files. So I think the problem is somewhere else.]
CraigMeade
SOLVED: It was the passwords for the two databases that were in conflict, one was overriding the other. At least with my host Powweb, they need to have the same passwords.
