I can't send emails to public domain email addresses

Hi There,
I am using `/usr/sbin/sendmail` Sendmail to send out my emails. For some reason I can only send them to business emails, and not on my gmail account.

When sending test mail, the system does display a message that email has been sent successfully BUT it fails to reach the destination. I have been facing this issue since last couple of days and am sure that it has not landed into SPAM or Junk folders either.

I will appreciate if anyone can help me sort this out?

Having your mails flagged or discarded as spam is a very common problem nowadays. There are all kinds of extra settings and addons you can apply to be seen as more reliable. But this is specialist stuff that you better discuss on a specialist forum for server management.

Did you ever wonder where all those medicine and finance adds went that once formed such a big part of spam? Google deletes a lot of (alleged) spam without sending it to the spam box.

If I remember well there is some trick that you can use Sendmail from the command line and then see the reason for rejection when it is rejected.

Many people who have their own server choose not to bother with the mail server trouble and use the services of some mail server company instead. Some names: MailGun, Sendgrid, Sendinblue, G Suite, OpenSRS, Zoho, Migadu, Mailcheap, MXroute, MailFence, Mailbox.org, Runbox

Sorry, for the delayed response.

I used SMTP and it is working just fine.

Just for knowledge seeking,

I have checked all my box's and I am sure am not getting it delivered to any of my box's. If the email address would have been blocked, then probably I wouldn't have been able to receive my emails even using SMTP [I configured google SMTP], correct?

Your ip address and the settings of your email server play a role too in Google's evaluation your reliability.
