The correct way to move prestashop in subdomain

Hello community!

I want to move an online store built in prestashop on a subdomain, nothing else changes. I want to keep another site content on the main domain, not to remain empty. How should I proceed to successfully move the site and what problems should I expect? What impact would this have on SEO? Can this impact be corrected? I mention that we have very few links on other platforms / sites. Have you ever successfully moved a store into a subdomain? I look forward to hearing from you 👁️‍🗨️.

Hi, there are several posts/tutorials out there to help you create a copy of your shop.

yes, we have created subdomain copies 1000's of times looool.

 

If you do not want your copy to be indexed the easiest thing is to put in maintenance mode.

else and what we do is set robots.txt to no follow all, then make this file RO so it's not mistakenly regenerated.

Note: we did find that ps upgrade will fail if robots.txt is RO, so be warned.
