HELP. auto installer doesn't work - fresh install

Hello

I am up to the point of installing.  I have my index file and prestashop.zip folder ready and waiting; databased created.  BUT the auto installer will not launch.

I go to my browser type in my new domain (sub) but nothing happens.

I type in subdomain.domain/folder/install but that doesn't work either.  The "folder" is a zip so may be that won't work anyway!

Frustrated!

 

The instructions are not as detailed as they should be.

Steps to follow:

1. Download the prestashop files (https://www.prestashop.com/en/versions)
2. Unzip the downloaded file, for example prestashop_1.7.7.4.zip --> unzip
3. You will have three files now (prestashop.zip, index.php and Install_PrestaShop.html)
4. Unzip the prestashop.zip and upload all the content to your web-host*.
5. Go to the url where you have placed the prestashop files. For example https://yoursite.com/myfirstwebshop/

The web shop will automatically redirect to the install folder ( https://yoursite.com/myfirstwebshop/install/ )

* Some web-host support unzipping in their file-manager, if so its quicker to upload prestashop.zip to your web-host and unzip it there.

Thank you @Crezzur.  The problem arose at the point of whether to unzip or not.  I didn't and thought the auto installer would kick in when I navigated to my shop URL but it didn't.

I'll see about unzipping in my file manager on my CP
