Custom Field Modules

I'm creating a demo site for the company I work for. I'm creating a fake retail store and in the payment section of the checkout process, where one normally puts in their debit/credit card information, my boss would like me to create a custom field where a user can input data and once the user clicks submit it directs the user to the confirmation page and create a fake confirmation number. Is this possible? From the research I've done I don't believe it is but PLEASE SOMEONE PROVE ME WRONG!!!

There are several modules to add custom fields for customer, address or product. It is only about data. I don't know one similar module which can load a page.
