Prestashop multi stores different servers

Is it possible to have multiple Prestashop front ends hosted in different servers, yet having the same backend on a main server?

I have searched all over and cant find out how to do this or if its possible.

Of course, you can use multiple servers. When you activate multistore you need to add a URL for each store. If you pretend to us multistore I will take PS 1.6., PS 1.7. this option has several bugs. It is indifferent if this URL is hosted on same server or not. Once multistore is activated you cannot return it to one store anymore. You can disable other URL's, but database will store all the new tables needed for to maintain more than one shop. Multistore means: one database and several URLS/Shops. Only for the main store a database is installed for all other stores Prestashop only writes a new .htaccess  redirecting tho main URL. There is no install on the sub-stores.
