  1. Thanks Vekia I had a go at that but i had some problems. I am guessing that others have been successful with it though. I was worried about commiting to something so fundemental as my sites URLS to an unsupported module. Do you think that this kind of advanced url managment might come to the core in the future. I know our competitors "magento" and "Drupal commerce" have very flexible urls Thak you
  2. Hello I am looking for a module to do the following: -strip the category id from the category url -strip the product id from the product -remove the category from the product url Like this: www.domaiin.com/my-category www.domain.com/my-product.html I need it to work with the site map modules as well - so if another module generates urls it should recognise this structure Does such a module exist? Thank you David
  3. Hello, I have recently noticed the source box is missing from the admin orders page. I recently upgraded to 1.4.10 then 1.4.11 I think i turned it off somewhere in there but can't figure out which module Here is have the source box now I don't Any ideas? Thankyou
  4. I fixed it i didn't have a AllowOverride in my virtual host directory defintion for SSL - odd that 1.4.8 didn't seem to need it at least not on my install <Directory "/home/user/mysite"> SSLOptions +StdEnvVars AllowOverride All </Directory> not sure how to mark this as solved but..it is!
  5. Hello I wonder if someone can help. I am in the process of upgrading a site to prestashop 1.5 (from 1,4.10) and it all went well except when i turn on my ssl certicate any url like /order does not work I think it is something to do with my .htaccess but I don't know what. Any help appreciated to save me rolling back as it is very late here Thank you here is my .htaccess
  6. It looks like google shopping is going to be paid for - that is a problem for some of the smaller companies I work http://www.change.org/petitions/merchant-center-keep-google-merchant-center-part-of-organic-search
  7. I just got this on my Centos 6 VPS Quite weird as i have installed prestashop several times before. The Database confirms ok and the e-mail test passes but when you hit "next" the light box pops up and twirls for a moment then disappears. A quick check in my apache error log showed this error [Thu Apr 19 16:47:56 2012] [error] [client 1*] PHP Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'kdguser'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/wwwuser/html/public/classes/MySQL.php on line 34, referer: http://www.myserver.com/install/ So the install routine was using a blank password. On inspection of the settings.inc.php file it would appear the password field is blankl So for some reason the install routine was not writing the password. I got around it by setting my database user to have blank password. which let me proceed to the next screen Of course I will manually change it later. I will let you know how i get on
  8. Hello Forum, I wonder is it possible to move the location of the cachefs directory to another filesystem? When i enabled the cache with the file system (rather than memcached) I ran out of inodes on my file system. I can create and mount another file system but i don't know if i can move cachefs to this Thank you for reading David
  9. Hello, Thats a good question I don't know if there is anything out in prestashop that does it easily. There is a "hook" called createAccount which might be helpful. I will have a look and see if this hook can be used to do this kind of thing Have you tried to find a module that might help?
  10. Hmmm, that looks like quite a different from the prestashop. Prestashop products are seperate from the actual checkout order process. I think that might be a lot of effort to do and would require some reprogramming. Others on the forum may disagree butit looks a difficult task
  11. Hello, You probably could convert a theme by copying its outputted HTML, images and CSS and then convert it to a prestashop template. I have done this to some extent when a client wants a particular look to their site they have seen elsewhere. As for straight conversion of a template well, as others have said not easy. How far have you got with the building of your own template? Perhaps we can help you along a bit. It isn't really that hard but the more you knwo about PHP, HTML, CSS the easier is becomes. Not to mention some design skills!
  12. Hello Dani, I think the first thing for us to help you would be to understand how much you already know of the prestashop system Did you set up the shop to begin with? Do you have access to the hosting account that this shop is running on? The upgrade process is not difficult but you must be careful not to destroy your existing site! Thank you David
  13. well you could make a copy of your changes and then restore the original files from the prestashop install, then add the changes one at a time to see which one breaks it Otherwise it is hard to pinpoint the error Thank you
  14. That's a good idea, i don't know if it is - but i will report back if it is possible
