Can not connect to database

Hi,

I'm trying to connect to the database. When setting up on page two I get the message "Your configuration is valid" but then on page 3 after inputting info I get "Database server was not found"

Any ideas?

It may not be PrestaShop, but I'm not sure what it is. I have setup one other database with the same host for a different cart and it works great.

One more thing, when inputting the database info it asked me for a login: I'm not sure what this should be, by default it said "root" that didn't work, I also tried the Username of the database.
