Products Not Updating

Good Day All

I am trying to update products which I had imported products with an import module, however when i try to manually update an items description or category it does not allow me to update the product, when you press save it doesn't give an error but as soon as you refresh the page the updated information disappears. It also does not allow it to be searched in the front end of the shop.

 

i thought it may be the module so i bought another module but was faced with the same issue.

 

any help i would be grateful

enable PrestaShop debug mode and recreate issue to see if an error is  then displayed.  for 1.7 see performance page to enable debug, for others search there are several posts on how to enable debug mode.
