er_pepito
Good, I have a question and it is ... Is it advisable to eliminate the old discontinued products? I say this because I think that, at the SEO level, it can be positive that they keep appearing. What do you think? Thanks people
PrestaHeroes USA
If the product is discontinued then catalog-->products-->edit product-->disable and set what to do with link. https://www.screencast.com/t/fHXBq54yn the key to seo is showing 'relevant' information. A discontinued product is no longer relevant but can be pointed to something that is, i.e. a similar product, which is best for seo. happy prestashopping
er_pepito
Thanks for your answer! Within the options (404, 302, 301 ...) What advised me to choose for what less seo? Thanks again;) Edited September 4, 2018 by er_pepito (see edit history)
Knowband Plugins
If you think that these products might come again in future & you have to make those products live again then use redirect 302 (Temporary redirect) for those products else use 301 (permanent) redirection.
PrestaHeroes USA
Knowbrands advice is solid, 301 permanent/302 temporary. We are building a product by country module which must support links from countries where a product is not available. We are expanding the product options 404/301 permanent/302 temporary to something similar as amazon/jet etc. this will we think will help keep old link juice (no 301/302) by providing 'really' relevant information to visitor, i.e. list of 'other' relevant content. happy prestshopping and remember 1) backup everyday via hosting and 2) always have devcopy of your production shop to first try things out.
