tony_nyorks
HiI have designed a site at www.trophyandprint.com and put all the files and folders in a sub-folder called shop.I have noticed that I'm getting 'not found' errors because for example when I did a search on yahoo for cycling trophies the link was to: http://www.trophyandprint.com/shop/www.trophyandprint.com/shop/93-athletics-cycling where the www.trophyandprint.com/shop/ is shown twice rather than http://www.trophyandprint.com/shop/93-athletics-cycling (which is the correct page).Does anyone know what I have done wrong to cause this?I have done a 301 redirect to get www.trophyandprint.com to point to the shop folder, have set friendly url's etc.I have also created an xml sitemap and there's no instance of this problem showing.I'm a bit stuck. Thanks in advance.Trophies and Awards
shokinro
if you changed your site after you enabled friendly URL, then you need to re-generate the .htsccess, because the .htaccess file contents are different when the store is under root folder and under a sub-folder.As an example, I have attached a sample .htaccess file which is under sub-folder shop1323 sample.htaccess.txt
tony_nyorks
HiThanks for you reply.I never actually moved the site from root to subfolder, was in the sub from the beginning.I looked at my .htaccess and it's showing the right stuff as compared to your example. If you go to yahoo site explorer and do a search on www.trophyandprint.com you'll see what I mean but this problem isn't showing when I create sitemaps.I'll keep trying stuff and any other ideas much appreciated. Thanks for help so far.Trophies and Awards
tony_nyorks
OK, think I've sorted it.After much scrutiny I eventually noticed viewing page source that the only link to these dud pages was from the canonical url link!!!After perusing these forums it seems I'm not alone with this problem and seems to be a bug with version 1.3 onwards.Tomerg suggested switching off the canonical url module as he doesn't believe it does a lot of good anyway so that's what I've done and will keep an eye on it.
