No payment methods avaiable

Hello,

Sometimes there are suddenly no payment methods available so that customers can not pay. It seems that it happens more often when I switch on the caching option (not to be confused by smarty cache). We use a VPS with Memcached.

The developers of these modules say that it is a problem of Prestashop, can someone help us to solve this problem?

AFAIK there are only two cache systems that won't give you headaches with PrestaShop:

1. LiteSpeed + LiteSpeed cache (and corresponding module https://github.com/litespeedtech/lscache_prestashop)

2. Varnish cache (but you would have to ESI patch your HTML manually).

 

On our 23mio visitor/mo system we went with the first option. Do note that you have to spend quite a few 100$ on a knowledgeable developer since only a tiny fraction of the so-called "experts" out there can build an actually caching system. Not even PrestaShop managed to build one in their own software.

Honestly, in most cases I would recommend against any caching at all on Presta. The hassle of constantly missing sale opportunities due to caching problems just isn't worth it if you don't see these visitor numbers.

We do not prefer paid services, we had a hard time running Varnish Cache on plesk via HTTPS, so that is probably not an option either.
