Spammers email newsletter

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a prestashop where the newsletter module is used to create subscriptions with spam emails accounts, we installed a recaptcha (slider) and thought it would stop but its still happening , now we have disabled the 2 email (confirmation and verifying) to put a hold on it before we get blocked by our hosting company

Is where others what have experience the same ?

I am wondering why they do it , maybe i don't get it right but they create a news subscription with a mail adresse what get marked as spam by our hosting and if i check the email adress on https://cleantalk.org/blacklists/ its marked as spam mail account, so the question is what are they trying to archive with it ?

NB: English is not my natural language ;-)

Hi there.

Now I have discovered I have the same problem.

My Prestashop version is 1.7.6.8 and module ps_emailsubscription is 2.6.0.

The spammers use the confirmation and verification emails, to check something. As you have done , I have disabled these 2 options.

Now I want to see if this activity is going to stop.

And that's why I developed my own module and it's free of problems.
Dozens of customers are already using it and only one has been spammed.
Setting up the module is friendly even for beginners.
See how to protect yourself from spammers.

An update is already being prepared, when it will be required to activate a new customer by email, as well as to subscribe to news.

Hi there,
That's right, the only solution to get rid of these spam bots is to use the anti-spam captcha.
The solution is simple if you have basic knowledge of how information is passed between MVC components.

I myself have modified the modules and created this mathematical barrier and there is no spam activity unless it is done by a human. The downside is that I need to rewrite the code whenever the module needs to be updated.
This module looks interesting, but in my opinion it is too expensive.
