[SOLVED] Adding code to footer file

Hello, first post - Great shopping cart from what i've tested out so far.

I am trying to add some code which needs to go right above the </body> tag.
I added this code to the footer.tpl file of the prestashop theme
between

{/if}
and
</body>

but it prevents the footer links part of the page from loading and the code doesn't show in the source code of the page.
Is there something else i should be doing? or should the code go somewhere else?

What kind of code you need to add ?

If it is javascript you need to surround code with

 {literal}

/* your code */

{/literal}
