New install - Blank first page

I'm sorry to post such a common question to you, however I've had no luck using the guidance I've seen others get.

After I installed PrestaShop, I could access the admin-panel. But then I tried to check out the shop and all I could see was a blank white page = /

I changed so that I could see what's wrong.

And this is what I got:

Unless your host is using suPHP the permissions on the compile folder should be 777

My apologize jhnstcks, the compile folder has 777-permission.

Mistake in the first post I'm afraid.

I tried re-clearing the cache, but alas: still no luck.

Did you install version 1.3.2 stable or 1.4 beta?

Hello theme_designer!

I installed the 1.3.2 stable version.

I made a local server and installed, and didn't receive this error. Could be a problem on my webhost then.

Appreciate the help responses I got anyways.

I have the same problem. This time using the 1.4 beta. Didn't have this issue with 1.3.2
