getting payment error status update with 2checkout even when the payment goes through

my customers get payment error status update after checking out with 2checkout even though the payment goes through so they end up paying more than once and we have to refund them i wish to know why this is happening and how it can be fixed. I bough the 2checkout module on the prestashop addons marketplace my store version is 1.7.1.2
