[Solved] Can't install any module - "500 internal server error"

Hi,

For some reason I am no longer able to install ANY module from the modules repository. I press the Install button, see the animated circle for a second and then the button returns to normal, nothing happens and modules wont install.... I've triend with several  modules and got the save behaviour on all. I've tried to install an external module (zip file) and got a "500 Internal Server Error"...

Any tip?

did you update your prestashop version (1.6 to 1.7 ?)

Thanks for your help guys... We found the solution and it's quite simple....

For some reason (really dont know why) php active version was 7.1. ..... by downgrading php again to version 5.6 everything came to normal and then we've been able to successfully install modules .
