how to change website name?

hi all,

i'm new to prestashop.

i have created a new website and use prestashop as the online shop. but i notice the web domain that i created using prestashop have an extension like www.onlineshop.com/e-commence/ which the /e-commence/ is the default in the prestashop.

my question is how to change it to www.onlineshop.com and i can see the prestashop program? thanks in advance.

You should go to the Preferences tab and change the "PS directory" from /e-commerce/ to / then click Save at the bottom. Once you've done that, all the paths will change from the subdirectory to the root directory, so your website will appear to break. You then need to use your FTP client to move all the files from /e-commerce/ to / then your site will work again. If anything goes wrong and you can't access the Back Office anymore, you can manually change the path of the __PS_BASE_URI__ in config/settings.inc.php.
