ajs6116
Hi all, I am currently running PS 1.6.1.5 and need to setup a test site on my remote hosting. So far I have copied the production site to a folder called "/test1/", and changed the database connection settings to point to a test version of my prod database. When I try to access my site I get redirected to my prod site. I have tried to edit _PS_BASE_URI but I am unable to locate where the variable is defined. As a work around, I updated my production sites, _PS_BASE_URI to point to test site, downed loaded my entire site (4.11 gb) and then uploaded they updated version to my test site. Still no luck. How can I get my test PS instance to point to proper code base? Thanks, Art
El Patron
it is 'much' easier to create a devcopy of your shop in a subdomain. Note: if you production shop is in a folder and not root then do the same thing, put in same named folder on subdomain. Then copy your shop, update the db connection, and set url via back office-->seo & urls.
bellini13
there are 2 things that you may have missed 1) In the database is a table named ps_shop_url, which contains the domain names for your store, as well as a base path. Since your domain name has not changed, you can leave those alone, but you must edit the base path to /test1/ 2) There is an .htaccess file in the root of your store that contains redirect information. In your /test1/ folder you now have this .htaccess which needs to be re-created since the store URL is now different
