No products displaying in categories but do on home page

Ive installed prestashop 1.7.2 and with default theme. Products appear on home page but not in categories. Obviously, the product is linked to the categories.. Any ideas anyone?

Sorry if I reply to an old thread, however I have had the same experience when migrating between hosting environments. After enabling the debug mode, it became apparent that some permissions on the database were missing (in my case, create temporary tables).

In MySql, I ran: show grants; to get the current grants, then added the missing ones.

GRANT SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, DROP, INDEX, ALTER, CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES, LOCK TABLES, EXECUTE, CREATE VIEW, SHOW VIEW, CREATE ROUTINE, ALTER ROUTINE ON `shop`.* TO 'shop'@'localhost';
