A new e-commerce site

I have used this wonderful software to create a small site for my [spam-filter] to sell some of her creations.  http://www.karenordner.com

 

Very simple and no changes from the default template.

Hi Tony,

 

Might you be wondering why there is a "ad's go here" image at the bottom of your page; if you check index.tpl in de themes/default folder you find the line: <img src="{$img_dir}{$lang_iso}/ads.gif" alt="Ads" title="Ads" class="space bbspace" />

 

If you remove that line, the ad's image will be gone .

Thank you!  I actually had edited the picture the first time but when I upgraded I forgot to copy over the picture.  I would rather not show it so thank you very much for the tip!!

I did not know about that page.  Where do I set it up?  I do not see it in the admin section but maybe I am overlooking it.  I just upgraded to 1.0 RC3 a few days ago.

Just a word of warning: using a Release Candidate for a live site - no matter how little or how much traffic it gets - is risky business.

You can find the template file in: prestashop_folder/themes/theme_name/about-us.tpl

 

Or in the backend go to Tools -> Translations -> Front Office Translations

 

and look for the About-us block, where you can change [some words about your shop].

Just a word of warning: using a Release Candidate for a live site - no matter how little or how much traffic it gets - is risky business. 

 

These days using ANY software release from most places commercial or open source is pretty risky on a live site or even just your PC...  

 

Anyhow thanks for the warning but so far it has been just fine.  The biggest problem was having to select a template and regenerate the thumbnails since a couple of new sizes were introduced.
