mytheory. Posted June 11, 2010 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Yes you need/should create all the categories and subcategories first. To the best of my knowledge I do not believe PS creates those categories. You define them in the spreadsheet so PS knows where to place that particular product info. I would recommend you place everything in an excel spreadsheet, separated by the different import fields. Then you need to save it as a CSV (comma delimited) file before you can upload and import it. You cannot use the excel file to import the data, you can only use it to create you spreadsheet before saving/converting it to a CSV file.I just had an indepth conversation about the categories when importing at this thread (it may be of help): http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/58578/#255669HTH!
