TMD hosting - your opinion? Would recommend?

Hello,

TMD hosting is listed as one of the official hosting partners of Prestashop, and their offering sounds almost too good to be true, especially at that price level.

So my question is, has anyone used it, and what is your opinion? Good or bad experiences?

Thanks in advance!

Dan

Hello,

I ordered TMD hosting "Professional shared service" (https://www.tmdhosting.com/choose-plan.html) in last month and now I'm building the Prestashop site. My site is located in Europe data center (Amsterdam). I don't really know what to think about of service. First my site was REALLY slow and I complained of problem to their customer service. Eventually support team supervisor promised to migrate my site to newest production server in Europe data center. Now my site is okay but ...hmm.. not lighting fast and It could be much faster (if I compare to many other Prestashop sites). After migration there was big hassle to get http --> https redirection to work because support guys didn't understand what they were doing. After support team supervisor came for help again and fixed the problem (he knew what to do) and everything was okay.

The customer support is briliant and friendly and you'll get help 24/7 always. Maybe I'll move to A2 hosting (https://www.a2hosting.com/prestashop-hosting) when it's time to move Prestashop 1.7 version. I think now It's little bit difficult time to build the site because 1.7 version is already available but can't use it yet because of my template etc supports only 1.6x version.

I hope that this brought a little bit of help for you .....

Thanks for your input. I am currently on A2, on one of their shared Prestashop plans, and actually, my website is slow too. The main problem is slow SQL queries in the Warehouse theme, which is most likely caused by a lack of horsepower.

So I was hoping to maybe find a better alternative, but from your account, it doesn't sound like TMD is better, actually.

Good to hear something about A2 too. Have you any experience of Amazon Web services (AWS)? It seems to me that AWS services are really fast but hosting prices are more expensive too (but not too high?).

Look this live site (I'm not sure is it production or demo site). I think the site is hosted in AWS (DNS points to AWS)? Site is really fast?
