How to transfers product short/long descriptions from 1.4.7 to 1.6

Hello fellow geeks, how can one transfer the short/long descriptions of every product from 1.4 to 1.6? We successfully upgraded from 1.4 to 1.6 with 1,000+ products and everything was fine except the short/long product description is missing. We still have the old shop live so we could literally take product by product and do a copy and paste but that's a lot of work. We also tried by running a db query but we ended up with lots of errors. Thank in advance.
