Ninja2000
Apologies for such a basic question as I am new to Prestashop. When adding a product I see there is an ID and a Reference code, I want each product to have a unique number in my store so when it comes to invoicing I know which product is which, should I use ID or Reference code? RuthMoore
Use Reference code Similar to SKU (stock keeping unit).
musicmaster
It depends. The product id is what the database uses to link its tables together. From the point of view of the software the reference is just a kind of description. But the product id is an auto-increase number on which you don't have influence and that you can't change. The reference on the other hand you can give any value that you want and usually people give it the same value that they use in their bookkeeping and stockkeeping software outside Prestashop.
