Rewrite problems [Solved]

Hello guys.

 

I did have my shop on a share hosting and the traffic was getting to high for it so i deceded to move to a dedicated server

 

i have some experience with linux so i did install a debian os and apache2 php5 and mysql server i have put my site on the new server but when i go to contact us the url looks like this www.mysite.com/contact-us but now the server thinks im trying to go to a folder called that so i always get not found error ?

 

this happens also when i try to see products and etc only thing that works is the index and also the admin panel works fine i think that is because he only works with /index.php?etc.......

Did you try regenerating .htaccess?

It was the virtual host that was not allowing rewrite.

 

apache2 default settings have changed since i did this the last time so in /etc/apache2/sites-available/000-default.conf

 

need to insert this 

 

<Directory /var/www/html>

AllowOverride All

</Directory>
