Complex shipping calculations

Hi all,

I've been struggling for a long time to find a solution for our shipping cost calculation on Prestashop.

I hope someone can help me with a solution or advice!

The problem is the courier we are using works as follow:

There are 2 rates: Main Centre or Regional

Main Centre or Regional is determined by post codes. The post codes does not necessarily work in ranges.

Thus, each post code is either Main Centre or Regional.

Eg. 1001 = Main Centre = Price Class A and 1002 = Regional = Price Class B

Main Centre Price Class A is further determined by the weight range.

There are about 15 weight ranges I will need to insert to cover all our shipping needs.

Price Weight range 1: 0 - 8.4kg

Price Weight range 2: 8.4 - 16.8kg

to...

Price Weight range 5: 33.6 - 42kg

etc...

So if order is postal code 1001 and weighs 10kg,

then Price = Main Centre (Price Class A), Price Weight range 2

= 90

Hope this makes sense.

Thus, they provided me with 2 sheets, one with all the postal codes that shows if a specific postal code that is either Main Centre or Regional, and then also a rates sheet, with weight ranges in rows and a column for Main Centre and another Column for Regional, and by that price is determined.

I checked all available modules and I tried demos but did not come right with the way the price is determined, eg. Main Centre or Regional by postal code, then price by weight range and Main Centre or Regional.

Please help!

Perhaps I'm just not approaching this in the correct way.

Kind Regards, Peter

Hello Petrus,

You did contact us regarding this module:

http://addons.prestashop.com/en/19680-shipping-cost-by-postcode.html

I will reply here so everyone can follow if they fall down in the same situation.

Module Shipping cost by postcode can nearly fit your needs, except for 1 thing:

- We ask for a range of postcodes.

For example:

1001 - 1009: Main Central

1010 - 1020: Regional

etc...

All you have to do is to setting postcode ranges, mapping them to virtual zones.

Finally, associate zones & weight with your specific shipping cost.

Hope that helps!
