How Can I Stop Internet Explorer 9 Showing Black Background?

I added a free custom template to store, so no support. It displays fine in Internet Explorer 10, and in Mac OS. In Internet Explorer 9 and less, the background displays black, and header is also another colour (see attached screenshots).

Have searched but not found a fix. I cannot see anything wrong in CSS. Does anyone know how I can force it show expected colours?

I don't want to lose template as I have spent a lot of time customising it.

Thanks.

When there was no reply, I thought you lost interest, so changed it back to default as I couldn't afford Win users to see that mess in the screenshot I posted. If you would like to look now, I have applied the custom theme, but will revert to default in 2--3 hours.

PS: Have bought and installed a custom template but suspect a setting in theme controller was the problem, though not sure why only IE showed a different background to all other browsers.

Thanks.
