[Solved] Category Doesn't Work After Upgrade

Hi,

I have an issue with my develop website http://demo.app-ita.it/test/

 

I upgrade my website from prestashop 1.4.7.0 to prestashop 1.6.1.2

 

I do this steps:

• upgrade my prestashop website from 1.4.7.0 to 1.4.11 and then to prestashop 1.6.1.2
• install a fresh prestashop installation of prestashop with the new thema
• replace the tables of new database with old tables, only the tables of products, categories, customers, orders, discounts, carriers, cms and others.

now there is a category that doesn't work, the category id=2

 

the url is http://demo.app-ita.it/test/2-tavoli

 

can someone help me?

Do you have problem only with front office or backOffice too?

Only in the front-office, I can access to this category in back-office

As I see you do not use default prestashop theme.

Different themes has different configurations. 

My guess is that you done upgrade in the wrong order and replacing tables to dropped some tables belonging to the theme.

 

You should look for module in back office called 'menu' or 'top menu' or 'mega menu' and try to configure.

I don't know if the issue is with the module because if I disable the friendly url and I change the id category from a working category it doesn't work.

 

Do you think I have to chack in a specific table in my database?

Default friendly URL on PrestaShop is like this: 96-printed-dress.html

If you use some SEO module it changes url to: printed-dress.html

If you disable friendly URL, link looks like this: index.php?id_product=2&controller=product&id_lang=2

the issue is with category id=2

I disabled the friendly url, this is an example of working category: demo.app-ita.it/test/index.php?id_category=7&controller=category

if I change the id with 2 the url doesn't work

I found the solution here

I had an other issue, the best solution is to check the ps_configuration in your database and see the values of PS_HOME_CATEGORY and PS_ROOT_CATEGORY
