[Solved] Cannot Duplicate And Install A Copy Of The Default Theme

Hi guys, looking for a little advice. I am using a fresh clean install of prestashop 1.6.1.2 and I'm trying to duplicate the default theme to create a theme of my own for my shop; I remember reading back when I built our first shop not to edit the core files if possible, so hence the duplication. But I can't. I've tried copying the default folder, renaming it and putting it back in /themes, but it doesn't show up in back office, and I can't 'add a new theme' as all the options want zip files. If I create an archive from the copied folder and put that in the themes folder, I just get 'bad configuration' when I try to add it. Any help would be awesome!

Edit: Thanks Nemo, that helped alot, I created a new theme with the same settings as the default and all seems to be going in the right direction now Thanks for your help!

What if you scroll down till the bottom, and hit create a new theme?
