Adding Gift Message to New Order Email PS 1.6

Are there any instructions/options available for PS 1.6 to add the gift message text into the New Order email that is sent to the shop? I am surprised that this is not a standard feature ... but perhaps I am completely overlooking something?

 

Please help! Client has a flower shop and nearly every order will have a message. Not having these on the order email itself with make their process very complicated.
