1.6.1.1 zipcode

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm having a lot of issues with the zip code. I have seen that there are few posts with zip code errors but no fix or solution. When the customers either way use guest check out or create account. They get stuck on the zip code with a big red x!

I have tried out of state zip code and in my state zip code as well and they all are rejected. I have looked at everything in localization and nothing has ever changed! It is all the same since 1.6.0.9.

The zip/postal code format is NNNNN but I did put it blank so that Prestashop will not verify the postal code, still an issue.

I'm using Prestashop 1.6.1.1

Does anyone have a fix for this?

I am having the same problem, some countries work fine, but most of them don't.  I have tried going into Localization-Countries and left the zip/postal code format field empty. I have tried the fix here: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/99240-invalid-postcode-error/?hl=%2Bpost&do=findComment&comment=1763545

And here: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/464871-uk-postcode-issues/?hl=%2Bzip+%2Bincorrect

Still no luck.  I had a look at http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCSX-4852  but I'm not sure how to proceed.  By "You need to update your theme and more specifically this file https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/1.6.1.x/themes/default-bootstrap/js/tools/statesManagement.js" does it mean just to to replace the statesManagement page?

My version is 1.6.1.0, using the default theme and no modules other that the native modules.  Any further help would be appreciated.

@gabdara I've tried this and it has made no change.

What I have done so far is select Localization > Countries > Does it need Zip/Postal code? "No" for each country. Luckily my products are e-tickets so no shipping is involved however for purposes of payment gateways, the postal code is required. To date, customers only have the one option to pay via PayPal.

Also, the website theme has changed and displays no products on the homepage unless the customer clicks on "Best Sellers" or "Popular" product tabs which are modules.

Is anything being done to fix this bug?

Thanks,

Justin

@finkunlimited what version of PrestaShop are you using?

I've tested disabling "Does it need Zip/postal code?" on PS v1.6.1.1 and v1.6.1.2, on both it behaves as it should when creating an address.

This seems to be another issue not related to the zip one. You can start a new thread regarding this.

Hi Guys,

Apologies for the late response, I'm currently using Prestashop version 1.6.1.5 & still struggle with this issue.

I've found this module http://addons.prestashop.com/en/20777-uk-counties-pack.html but i'm not even sure if it will help with/for the payment gateways.

Zipcode/Postcode is required for all credit/debit card transations so as good as PayPal is, i'm losing the plastic market customer :(
