Lone Star
Hi forum, I'm currently running a shop thats been live for several months now. It is starting to need a some updates, a few re-designs, new images etc., but what is the best way to do this without affecting the live site more than necessary? We would rather not shut it down completely for maintenance (no live shop = no money), but on the other hand we wouldn't want our customers to shop around on a messy site in the process of being updated. It is possible to make a copy of the entire Prestashop folder, do the edit and then copy back the files? Or is there a easier/more correct way to do it? Kind regards! :-)
NemoPS
You can clone the site to a dev directory and make your modifications, (make sure you clone the database as well, and change all references to it), then simply move over once you're done
Lone Star
Hi Nemo, Thanks a lot for replying. What is the easiest way to do this? Is there a tool for the purpose? We're not that used to Prestashop. :-) Regards!
