product that is shipped in multiple boxes

Hello,

 

 

Was wondering if anyone wants to help out with the following question.

 

Lets say i have a large product and the product can only be shipped in separate boxes, how do i define this?

 

For example: i have a large couch, but when unpacked, the couch consists of 3 separate boxes - each with its own dimensions.

How would i define this?

 

Could i use something out-of-the-box within Prestashop or any Addons that would be specifically for this ?

I do not know of a module that would do this. That doesn't mean there is not one, but I just have never seen it.

I also have never seen a module that will allow you to do this. That said I have a similar problem and in my experience the shipping quote you get (at least with FedEx) is heavily weight dependent. Shipping a 150lb box or shipping 3 50lb boxes the cost difference is so negligible so I just let the store charge for a single box regardless of how many it will ship in.
