Moved store to root, now no language rewrite in URL

Have been having a hard time googling an answer to this, so hopefully someone knowledgeable can point me in the right direction.

 

Today, we just moved the store from a sub-directory to the root. Upon doing so, I changed the URLs in the back-office to point to the right place and refreshed the htaccess by toggling Friendly URLs on and off.

 

When I go to the website however, the /en/ or /fr/ that are supposed to be automatically written into the URL don't appear. So literally the language rewrite doesn't happen, which means it goes nowhere.

 

It looks like something happened where that functionality was lost - how do I go about getting that restored so that the shop is functional again?

 

Typing in /en/ manually makes it go to the right place, so I know the store itself isn't broken, it's just the URL redirection not happening.

Odd. Try disabling a language, then enable it again, it should regenerate the htaccess
