Unable to add product to cart, PLEASE Assist!

Hi, yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest PS (Version 1.0.0.8 - 0.250s).
I had a previous version installed (for testing), but I decided to delete it and install the newer version.
Previous database was deleted and a new one was created for this fresh/new install.

Installation went smoothly, no problems whatsoever.

The problem that I am getting now is that when clicking on the "add to cart" button on both pre-installed ps products as well as 1 new product that I created (with no attributes), I get the following error:

TECHNICAL ERROR: unable to add the product.

Details:
Error thrown: [object XMLHttpRequest]
Text status: error

I am in the process of uploading products to the site and start my online business, but this problem is concering me as I don`t seem to find a solution to correct it.

Any and all input/assistance is greatly appreciated.

I'm running version 1.0.0.4 and I also have this problem when trying to add a product to cart :

TECHNICAL ERROR: unable to add the product.

Details:

I have read all the forums and found nothing that helps.

I would suggest upgrading to the latest version 1.0.0.8

It fixed a similar problem for me

Thanks for your answer Andrew.
I have donwloaded and installed modulecart (last version 1.0.0.8).
Th problem is gone ... but I have a "hack attempt" mesage on the bottom of all pages and my figt column has disappeared !

Downgrading back the my blockcart nad I now have the right column (but still the problem with th ajax cart).

Do you know if there is something else to transfer ?

I know it's a pain - but I would suggest updating the whole application.

Or - have you tried turning off the ajax cart animation:

Backoffice | Modules | Cart Block | Configure

Here you can choose whether the Ajax cart is enabled or disabled.

Andrew, I have modified a lot the code so an upgrade of the whole app is not a good idea for me.
Unfortunatly, uploading only the modulecart doesn't work so I'm still in version 1.0.0.4.
I have disdabled the Ajax cart and I WAS ABLE TO ADD products - so it is an Ajax problem !


Melinda, I have the front security disabled but I still can't add products to Ajax cart.

This is also broken in the Featured products module that can be displayed on the main page.

Error thrown: [object XMLHttpRequest]

Updating fixed the problem from adding to cart from the product page - but NOT from the featured products 'add to cart'.

Anyone know the fix?

Hi,

I'm on PS 1.4.3 and using the topcart module. I have the same issue. If I click the "add to cart" button it generates the error message. However, when I refresh the page, the product is added to the cart. When I switch ajax to "off", the error doesn't occur. But I want to use the ajax feature and don't want to confront customers with the error offcourse. Please, anyone?
