Can I add mandatory setup charge to certain items?

Hey all just wondering how I would, or if I can, add mandatory setup charges to certain items?

I sell custom t-shirts and its a $25 setup charge per color. So I need to know how to add setup charges.

You could easily set it up as an attribute
Create Group Setup Charge
Create Attribute Mandetory Setup
Select your product - Attributes
Select Group and Attribute
Impact on price = increase, add cost
Click add attribute

and you are done

Ok so i followed what you said, but here is whats happening

Just keeps saying Availability: The product does not exist in this model. Please choose another.

Any ideas?

The reason for this is that you have to set a quantity avaiilable.

Try setting it at 1000, for each setup fee.( as this is a non stock item) that way you are not going to run out any time soon.

Also set the amounts for each colour - real amounts as this is your stock.

Ya I have all of my shirts at 9999 and my setup fees at 9999. And still doing the same thing. Weird that this coming up when I have my quantities set so high.

I am at a loss on this except for the fact that due to you setting such high quantities that the total has gone out of range.

19 colours @9999 each = 189981
7 setups @ 9999 each = 69993

Total = 13,297,340,133 items in stock .... I think

Try 10 items per unit to start with see if that cures it.

No reason why it shouldn't show as you can add it to the backet from the category page

Nope just dropped them all down to 50 and same thing. I will PM you my login details and if you don't mind can you take a look?

Or is there a way to tru off stock? Cause I don't stock anything and don't need to enter stock QTY's for anything.

All sorted now but I will post the results for others to see

If you add more than one set of attributes they must be created in pairs.

EG:

Colour: Brown
Size: Small

So you end up with a line in the attributes like [ Colour: Brown - Size: Small ]
