nitindb
I'm also wondering if the problem is due to an SSL issue? Does PayPal express checkout require that SSL is enabled on my web server? And is enabling SSL, the same as adding an SSL certificate?
nitindb
It does appear that, for using PayPal Express Checkout, I would have to enable SSL and get a security certificate.
jazz009
Hi nitindb,Do you have Curl library activated on your server ?
nitindb
I'm not sure. I've contacted the web host support team, so I'll update once I find out. So I assume it is essential that Curl is activated?
nitindb
I checked with my web host and Curl does seem to be enabled. They also mentioned the following in their reply:- Ideally, to integrate a Payment Gateway on a website, you need to send requests to the payment gateway using some port which is opened on the hosting server for outgoing connections. In order to investigate the issue, kindly let us know which port is being used for establishing connection with PayPal, and also if there are any IP's associated with it which needs to be white-listed.Does anyone know the answer to this? alexkid
IP's PayPal to whitelist. You can find the IP addresses here : https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?&cmd=_render-content&content_ID=developer/howto_api_golivechecklist
shokinro
I don't know which module are you using. All modules come with standard PrestaShop does not have Express checkout. But I think it is not necessary to have SSL to run Paypal Express checkout. I am using my own Express Checkout module at my site that not have SSL enabled. You can take a look here.
