How to Rollback Built in Prestashop modules?

Recommended Posts

All,

Since December/14 Google Analytics module (ganalytics) automatic upgrade to version 2.0, this PS built-in module has cause all PS 1.6 users to stop sending any data to GA.

Many effort is being put since then to resolve the problems but until now we are working withou GA.

My question is simple: how do I rollback to an earlier version of GA Module, before this upgrade? I cannot find it anywhere.

Please help!!

I do not believe any modules get automatically upgraded, you have to click the update all button, or click the update button for the module.

With that said, you should be taking backups of your store before you make any major changes (like module upgrades).  If you ever need to rollback, due to module causing issues, then you restore from the backup.

Bellini13, I think I didn't express myself properly. I did upgrade clicking in the upgrade button. I also have a backup of the hole store, but it would be much more easy just to have the earlier .zip file for the module then to rollback my entire store backup (and much less risky).

I just want to know where I can find the .zip for GA module for earlier versions, since it is a built-in module I thought that would be straightforward.

Hello,

This isn't the right section of the forum for your request, so I'll move the topic in the right category

About the GA module, it didn't upgrade himself automatically. Once you've upgraded your store, you cannot find the earlier version. Did you try to reset it entirely or clear your cache?

The other solution you can try is to download the same version of your store here, and copy/paste the folder corresponding to the GA module. The modules of the downloadable packs are not updated to their latest version, so there's a possibility you can find the earlier version of the GA module in there.

Let me know how it goes! :)

In addition to Samyha's feedback, you also said you have a backup of the whole store.  So you already have the original module, just extract it from your backup and upload it.

Note: This may or may not work.  It all depends what changed in the new GA module.

Your "Note" is acctually my worry. Since an installation is more then just a naive folder copying as suggested. That's why I've been avoiding this alternative.

It would very, VERY, helpful if Prestashop would provide earlier versoins of their built-in modules as they do for the hole store.
