mjaa
Hi! Urgent help needed here, hope you guys know what this is about. I needed larger images, and I'm using a theme bought from Addons which allows custom image sizing from BO. I set a new image size for home_01prem (theme's image size I wanted to change) and then regenerated all thumbnails. After that, only some images are visible and others (almost all) are missing. It shows as question mark on the site, and On the server side, it looks like on some images it has correctly regenerated them, and then on the products where they are missing, it shows only the original uploaded image. No generated/regenerated, nothing. Using Prestashop version: 1.5.4.1 Can you help me on this? Really dont know why it is like this! Thanks in advance!! mjaa
Thanks for your reply! Yes, but no reply yet. I checked on server side, it seems that the regenerating thumbnails also deleted from img->p all of the thumbnail files. That's all what I've managed to find. Also regenerating .htaccess file didn't help.
mjaa
http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCSX-2391 I checked from server that these were missing. I compared to backup from before this problem, and there was a thumbnail file relating to my theme and copied it to server. Then I regenerated thumbnails, and some images are visible again for the oldest added products. Now running regenerate thumbnails for the second time, and will see soon if more thumbnails are visible again. Could this be the problem/solution? and why the regenerating thumbnails erased the important thumbnail image files in the first place? Any help is much appreciated! -Marta
bellini13
When you regenerate images, it erases old thumbnails and recreates new ones, but only if you checked "erase previous images" checkbox. If you don't want the old images to be erased, then don't click the box. However there is a difference between the original image you uploaded, and the thumbnails that are generated. Prestashop does not erase your original image, so you like have erased it previously.
mjaa
I was able to get the images back, by copying from backup to server a thumbnail file relating to my theme, and then regenerated thumbnails 3 times for products->all. Without erasing previous thumbnails. It seems that there were so many images that it took that many times. I still didnt get a confirmation message, not even after the 3rd time, but all images are now visible. Hope this helps someone else! -Marta
eitel
From the way, you describe, what´s happened, it sounds like a serverside timeout problem, to me. Did you get any reports of errors, while running the re-generate thumbs script?
mjaa
Thanks for your reply. Yes, sounds about right. It actually timed-out a few times too, and for that I got an error message. Also I didn't get a "thumbnails successfully regenerated" notification. So there definitely went something wrong with the process.
