[Solved] Installation of PS - Permissions

Hi All,

probably a quick and simple answer.

On installation of PS you have to grant permissions (“CHMOD 777”) to certain folders ( /img, /mails, /modules, /themes/prestashop/lang, /translations) recursively (to their subfolders). Does that also include the files within these folders?

Hi Dahl99,

Yes, most of the scripts needs to be able to write directly into existing files.

For instance:

- sitemap.xml
- settings.inc.php
- modules/*/fr.php ... (all language files)
- themes/prestashop/lang/*

Also for images because you might decide to regenerate thumbnails of existing products.

Would this possibly explain why the Paypal 1.6 module fails to empty the cart, update the product quantities and not update buyers orders?
