paradate
I had the same problem.Check with your hosting services that the allow using htaccess and friendly URLS.My hosting services wouldn't let me and told me that if I want this function, I need a dedicated server. The wouldn't let me because of their security reasons.
curtdonohue
I've had this happen before as well. Are you sure you had your permissions set correctly for your .htaccess file? If you don't set it to CHMOD 666 as it says you should, you could encounter the error message you are seeing. Please check out this video I created to walk through the process of enabling friendly URLs, creating the blank .htaccess file, and uploading that file to the web host. You can view the video at the following address: http://www.prestatraining.com/create-prestashop-htaccess-file/. I'm not sure if this will help, but it is worth a try. Also, if you wouldn't mind, I have a survey I could use your advice on. I'm creating PrestaShop training resources and would like to know what you would want to see in a training resource. You can take the survey at http://www.prestatraining.com/question1.html. Thanks and I hope my video helps you.
