Add custom links to a block

I would like to add several custom links to a block. For instance, a Iink to new products, instead of having the link to the newest products shown as a tab on top of the content area. How can I add links to, e.g. the CMS Block? Is there another block that can be used to add custom links?

I have a module called "block random" that i sell on my website fairly inexpensive.  This would allow you to add a block of content to your left or right column, and then you can just add any HTML content you wish
