Blackielives
Can anyone point me in the right direction, of how to cut down on computer generated traffic. I have lloked at all the IP addresses and they all seem to be from robots etc. This is hard when I am trying to verify how many people are actually visiting against how much they are spending. Is there an easy fix? Cheers
vekia
it's not good idea... a lot of robots are a part of search engines, if you will block them - you (your website) will lose your seo and visibility over the internet the only one thing you can do - block these ip addresses
Blackielives
Many thanks Vekia, How do i go about blocking the Ip addresses. Most of the sites that are spamming my site are from russia and are XXX sites. Totally not needed, if it was a google bot or something I wouldnt mind. Just annoying when you log on and instead of having 400-500 visits per day, there are 2500 visits and most of them are from the these annoying sites. Thanks
vekia
you can block their ip addresses with feature like block ip address (free version allows to ban several ip address) you can also block ip addresses with htaccess file guide here if you're on own VPS / dedicated server you can use ip tables unfortunately, other way to block ip address doesnt exist.
