which emails are sent to customers?

I read that emails are sent to my customers when certain things happen. For example, when a customer successfully registers an account, they are sent an email. When their order is marked as "Shipped," they are sent an email.

 

I would like to know what actions trigger an email, what email is sent and how do I modify the text in the email? I looked at the User's Guide but couldn't find the information.

1) order emails are a part of orders > states section, you can define there statuses for which you want to send an email. to translate these emails go to localization > translations. form first dropdown select "mail translations", select your theme - then click on flag icon.

 

you will see list of emails to translate.
