The same issue is for German language. While mostly all is o.k. (= German language), for the following the English language is applied:

(changed to this after upgrading to 1.6.0.6 in early April 2014)

headlines for blocks:

-----------------------------------

(which are typically in the footer in the default layout)

catgories - my account - store information

within "my account":

--------------------------------

my credit slips

my personal info

In block "Manufacturers":

---------------------------

the headline: "Manufacturers"

and in the option list the first option: "manufacturers"

in block "Contact us"

--------------------------------

(typically in column 3 if using lin 1.6 a configuration like the past default layout)

the headline: "  CONTACT US "

(like this, hence in capitals)

in block "specials" :

---------------------------------------

(typically in column 3 if using lin 1.6 a configuration like the past default layout)

headline o.k. (hence in German)
but if there is none, then display in the English language:
"No specials at this time"

A more general aspect: "Home" is used for differing meanings

-----------------------------------------------

From my own site development and language used, "home" is totally banned becaused it is understood in 5++ meanings.

I can settle this by configuration for some occurences, not for all of them.

PRESTASHOP: In the default layout and implementation it is used in the horizontal menu bar instead of:

"categories"

"information"

(hence occurs 2x with 2 totally different meanings, at least on my shop site)

In the admin menu it is used in the sense of

- main segment of pages

- middle column in case of 3 column display

In the block "information" :

Home used  (as far as I remember) for displaying the list of all.

(I disabled this usage of "home".)

"home" is related to the very early UNIX network concept (still valid) with the "home page" for the users in the network.

By lazy language usage habits it propagated mainly for "home page" in the sense of complete websites - which is an absurd language distortion because a "site" is much much more than a "page".

I suggest to consider to stop using "home" in the context of PRESTASHOP due to its lack of a prevailing definition.

Perhaps I can take part in the language translation process.

-------------------------------------------------

So far I never did...
