At least in MN when ordering a taxable item the shipping is supposed to be taxed. When ordering a none taxable item the shipping is not supposed to be taxed. When ordering a combination of a none taxable item and a taxable item the shipping is not supposed to be taxed. Currently the determination of if shipping is taxed has nothing to do with the type of item being ordered. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tomerg3 Posted January 9, 2014 Share Posted January 9, 2014 You are correct in your assessment, shipping tax is applied regardless of the products that are taxed or not. While it may work when you have price / weight based shipping, if you are using a 3rd party company such as UPS, there is no real easy way to calculate the cost only of the taxed items. I believe this would require a pretty complex solution to a problem that is not very common.
