How to Learn to develop a new theme

Hi guys

 

Sorry for this question, but are two days I searching for a nice guide to develop a new theme for prestashop. With this documentation (http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS14/English+documentation) I can't understand enough to do my work! You know something to read more clear and simple?

 

I know smarty, but i can't understand how it works in prestashop! I would to join a Foundation template with Prestashop Cms.

I will be honest: the only real way to learn how to is try and do many many mistakes

 

Turn on errors (as described in my signature), clone the default theme's folder, open it, and start playing with files. THe names generically indicate the page they are associated to. Same for css, although most of the styles are set in global.css
