setup payment information needed ?

Recommended Posts

Hi i am starting up a website and need information about setting up payment.

I have a business bank account, and I presume i need a merchant account ? and a gateway. Is the gateway the module ?

If i use something like sage pay module on my site do i need a sage pay merchant account or any merchant account ? What fees do i need to pay for ? merchant account fees and sagepay fees ?

what about worldpay ?

is worldpay the same as sagepay in terms of what accounts i need ? just a merchant account ?

Also do both payments method have security, where you need to enter a card specific password to make payment ?

thanks

I'm very confused regarding this too.  Is there a Payments Gateway service/[spam-filter] available to say what these payment modules do, how they interface and if additional commission charges goto them?.

I am changing from an Actinic website using "Sellerdeck Payments" (payment gateway? which charged £120 per year), which uses a partner named "CreditCall" (Payment service Provider?) to make a payment to my Merchant "Steamline (Barclays Bank - which takes commission of the sales too).

If I want to continue using my existing Barkley's bank merchant account, what do I need to install into Prestashop and who does it interface to.

Is there a detailed thread on this stuff somewhere on the forum I have not found?

Update. I have contacted WorldPay. Bear in mind I am in the UK.

theyhave advised they can. Configure the prestashop for me as the integrate with prestashop and act as the payment gateway for a merchat of my choosing, or, using their Business Gateway plus package, act as the gateway and merchant.

£75 set up fee which includes merchant number , then about £20 per month and 10p per transaction plus 1.6% per total transaction cost depending on credit card type.

They are even sending someone out to talk about a soution and I am a very very small fish.

sound lie the prestashop worldpay module wont even be needed.
